Baby-Led Weaning This is a unique method to introduce solid foods to babies; this method skips purees and goes straight to finger foods. It is called baby-led weaning because this method allows your baby to feed themselves the healthy meals they want to eat right from the start. The following are some of the advantages of this weaning method: Encourages babies to become more accustomed to a wider range of textures and flavours in food. In the long run, this may make kids more likely to have more varied and healthful eating preferences. Stimulates the development of fine motor skills. Sticking to finger food promotes the development of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination abilities. For more information on baby weaning check out our guide over on our blog. Are Bamboo Plates Worth It? The variety of products available for our young children can be overwhelming when it comes to selecting items for them. As humans, we are frequently guilty of focusing solely on a product's design or eye-catching packaging, rather than its functionality or substance. Thankfully, these bamboo suction plates are both eye-catching and good for our little ones. These BPA and toxin-free bamboo plates guarantee they won't leach dangerous components into your child's meals. Bamboo is a high-quality, extremely robust material with a long and useful lifespan. Given that children enjoy playing with everything, including things they shouldn't, this can help safeguard the plates and bowls from being flung or dumped onto the floor from a highchair. Bamboo is also highly resistant to stains and odours, as well as being water-resistant. Whilst plates aren’t essential for this weaning method, it may support your baby in their learning. The raised sides of the plate will enable your baby to grasp their foods easier. The design of this natural bamboo suction plate sticks the plate to the table, which means your little one won’t be able to pick it up and throw it across the room, meaning you will have one less thing to tidy up! How Long Do Bamboo Plates Last? Bamboo baby plates are extremely durable, with daily use, can last for more than two years. Once water gets into the natural bamboo fibres, it may cause the surface to fade or develop white patches. You can toss your bamboo plates onto the compost pile once you're done with them. They are biodegradable and can quickly degrade back into the earth. What Age Are Bamboo Plates For? Our suction plate can be used for any age. You can start using these plates at 6 months old when you’re little one starts weaning, and once they are out of their throwing phase, you can remove the silicone ring and the plate can be used for older kids. Do Suction Plates Work? This suction plate adheres to smooth surfaces such as tabletops and high chairs with a strong grip. The powerful suction base not only prevents flying tableware and food covered floors, but they also promote self-feeding and a healthy relationship with food. Are Bamboo Plates Safe For Babies? A natural bamboo plate is often safer than it's plastic counterpart. An increasing amount of evidence suggests that plastic dinnerware can seep into food, posing a health risk to humans. Eco Packaging We're proud of our plastic free, recyclable kraft packaging with toxin free vegetable dyes. Simply place the box with your usual household recycling. Why Bamboo? Plastics can take up to 1,000 years to decompose, meaning every single piece of plastic ever made still exists and will continue existing for you and your baby’s lifetime. Swap to an environmentally friendly plastic-free alternative, bamboo, to create a better planet for your children. What is FSC® 100% Certified Bamboo? FSC® is a globally recognised certification scheme. This means that the bamboo used in this product is certified against the principles and criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council®, including values such as maintaining the forest’s ecosystem, upholding indigenous people’s rights of land ownership, and a commitment to maintain or enhance the forests used.
